Emergency Mode

Your information has been published, or you have been threatened

Your personal details are being published, or you have received threats. Safety first, then evidence, then removal.

Your physical safety comes first

If you believe you are in immediate physical danger, contact emergency services now. Nothing in this playbook comes before that.

What this assumes

  • Any device. If you believe a device may be monitored, use a different one.
  • Normal internet access.

Do these first

Containment. Minutes matter here and nothing else does.

  1. If there is any immediate physical risk, contact emergency services first.
  2. Do not reply to the person publishing or threatening. Engagement reliably escalates it.
  3. Tell someone you trust what is happening, so you are not managing it alone.
  4. Alert anyone else whose details were published alongside yours.

Afterwards

When the immediate situation is over, a plan is what keeps it from happening the same way twice. That needs an account; this page never will.
